On the 6th of May 2026, the Scalabrini Centre in collaboration with the Catholic Parliamentary Liaison Office made joint has made written submissions to the National Counsel of Provinces, Select Committee on Security and Justice on the One-Stop Border Post Bill [B12-2024]. The Bill includes several vital provisions on establishing and administering one stop border posts. These submissions recommend ways of enhancing the BIll to safeguard against corruption and to protect human rights of individuals with precarious documentation statuses like children, asylum seekers, trafficked persons and stateless persons.
