Our Objective
Employment Access aims to promote socioeconomic integration of asylum seekers, refugees, migrants and South Africans “in need” by facilitating access to employment.
Our objectives are to:
– To provide beneficiaries with resources and support needed for successful employment applications.
– To facilitate training in vocational skills that support entry level employment
– To increase employers awareness of and use of the Job Placement Service and to facilitate the recruitment and placement of job ready beneficiaries upon request from employers
– To promote the inclusion of professional beneficiaries (foreign professionals) into the relevant formal occupational sectors
Accessing Employment Access
Employment Access supports foreign nationals who have the legal right to work in South Africa. We provide skills training, professional development and resources needed for success in the job market. Internal and external courses are provided, focusing on job readiness, professional development, computer literacy and sector-specific trainings.

Focus Areas
To promote and strengthen the rights and integration of migrants and refugees in South Africa, through providing individual advice, publishing research, raising awareness, and advocating for legislative and policy reform and its proper implementation.
English School
To improve English communication skills in order to facilitate the socioeconomic integration and wellbeing of asylum seekers, refugees, migrants and South Africans.
Help Desk
The Help Desk assists clients find employment by offering support in the job application process.
Skills Training
The Skills Training project consists of both internal and external trainings, workshops and courses.
Foreign Professionals Desk
This service offers assistance to foreign clients who have a three-year degree or higher.
Volunteer For The Employment Access Programme
Our volunteers come from all over the world and bring a diverse set of experiences, knowledge and abilities. They support every aspect of Scalabrini’s programmes, from English lessons and administrative support, to outreach and advocacy work.
