Our Objective
UNITE works with high school students to build social cohesion and transformation in South African society. We aim to develop and improve skills in leadership and community activism, fostering attitudes that promote respect for all cultures within South African communities. UNITE equips learners with the tools to become conscious, prudent and engaged citizens who are able to make informed decisions.

How UNITE Works
UNITE runs leadership and mentorship workshops for select leadership learners from all six of the Western Cape High Schools they work in. These leadership learners form part of the Inner Club Council (ICC) and they attend workshops at the Scalabrini Centre of Cape Town to help prepare them to peer-educate and lead discussions on the topics learnt to the learners in their schools UNITE Club. Selected senior ICC members are given the opportunity to continue within UNITE as peer mentors, providing support and mentorship to newly elected ICC leaders. UNITE is aligned to the South African school calendar, with activities taking place from January to September each year. In the first term, from January through March, UNITE workshops address the theme of identity. In the second term, from April through June, the workshops address the theme of integration, and in the third and final term, from July through September, the workshops focus on diversity. In addition to weekly Club meetings and leadership workshops, UNITE runs leadership camps, holiday programs, end of term events aligned with prominent South African Holidays, and various other educational outings, collaborations, and events.
