Child and Youth Care Centre Volunteer Overview

Lawrence House is not just a home for children in need in need; it is a meeting point for many children, youth, families and volunteers who have crossed paths in Lawrence House over the years. Lawrence House needs the support of many to run its programmes and activities and to best respond to everybody’s needs. We are in regular need of tutors, mentors, child and youth care worker interns, host families and cooking volunteers. Tasks may include but not limited to:

Tutoring Lawrence House residents.
Providing mentorship and guidance.
Organising leisure activities and events.
Assisting with cooking and kitchen prep.

Skills and attributes needed:

Experience in social care or youth work is a plus.
A positive and upbeat nature.
Able to communicate effectively with people of all ages.
A mature outlook (please note Lawrence House can only consider volunteers age 23 and above).


We require a minimum commitment of three months, Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm.
*Please note: Lawrence House requires all volunteers to complete police clearance and to sign a volunteer contract and code of conduct.
