A sewing laboratory equipped with 5 machines is offered to refugee tailors already working within the informal sector. Some 7 tailors are now hosted at the Centre for a period of one year with the aim to help transform their 'home activity' into a sustainable business. Scalabrini Centre helps to attract a market for the tailors’ industry and strives to build a business around the cooperative model.
The tailors design clothes upon request, and also make bags, curtains and cushions. They also do alterations and repairs.
